Brother and Sister Chris & Laura Falder have joined together to create a new experience for guests at their HAIR and BEAUTY SPA in West Watford's Vicarage Road precinct..

Evolve Salon & Spa is just a few minutes walk from Watford's Town Centre. It offers an exciting new-style of unisex beauty experience where guests can discover a full range of hairdressing as well as a wide range of therapeutic, relaxing and beauty-enhancing treatments in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and ambiance. It’s a comprehensive one-stop-shop for your style and well-being.

Chris (24) manages the hairdressing business at Evolve Salon & Spa while Sister Laura (27) runs the beauty spa which offers a range of services from manicures and facials to hot stone therapy massages and seaweed detox wrap treatments.

Chris began hairdressing at age 21 having worked for several years in the retail sector after leaving school, then studying hairdressing and colouring at a hairdressing academy and salon in Watford. After completing his diploma Chris took on another job in the sales and marketing sector in order to earn more than he could as a salon junior. Chris realised at this early stage in his career that he really wanted to run his own business and so, whilst working as assistant sales manager at Beaumont’s Leisure, he gradually built up a personal clientele in his spare time. Then a plan to set up a new style salon and beauty spa was hatched and Chris began the search for suitable premises.

Meanwhile Laura, who qualified as a professional masseuse in 2007, had been travelling the world working as a beautician aboard cruise liners. Laura did three nine month tours with Princess Lines and travelled extensively - literally from pole to pole.One of her first ports of call was the Falkland Islands then on to Antarctica and along the west coast of South and North America right up to Canada and the Artic sea! The following year she cruised the Caribbean, Bermuda and the US eastern coast. Her final tour of duty was a complete world cruise!

During this time, as well as finding her 'sea legs', Laura gained extensive knowledge and experience in many therapeutic treatments from Deep Tissue Massage to Hot Stone Therapy and Seaweed Detox wraps.

After her third stint aboard ships Laura decided that she had shaken off the wanderlust (for the time being at least!) and decided to join the business with Chris. To offer clients the widest prossible breadth of treatment options, Laura decided to extend her skills with additional training leading to her being awarded diplomas in bio-sculpture, manicuring and waxing.

Having located the premises in Vicarage Road (previously Eclipse hairdressing), Chris set about turning his dream into reality. With the help of his Dad and some very handy friends who work in property maintenance, the shop was completely refurbished and fitted out for the symbiotic hair and beauty spa.

However it has not been plain sailing by any means! It is challenging for young people to start up a new business at the onset of one of the worst economic recessions in history. But Chris and Laura are well placed to see it through to success! They have a diverse range of skills, experience and expertise behind them and they are coming up with innovative and novel ideas to reach out to their new customers - like YOU!

Ladies Night !

Each month Laura and Chris host a ‘Ladies Night’ when small groups of friends can come and get pampered with hair, beauty and massage treatments along with a glass or two of champagne. This is already proving very popular - a perfect way to celebrate that "special occasion" with your family and friends - or just because you fancy a fun and relaxing evening in good company.

Outreach Marketing

Chris and Laura offer regular well-being consultation sessions hosted at local schools and business premises to demonstrate the range of therapeutic treatments and services on offer and to promote their business further.
