King Abdullahs plan (OLE)
The Middle East conundrum, a reflection of the current economic climate with British Airways, Iraq – who’s fault? Morality and Civil liberties … Human rights, Protecting the public from terrorism - even the Kyoto agreement, all were brought into focus recently as hosts for this evening event, Queens School was the venue for Global Uncertainties, a debate initiated by Debating Matters.
The event was held in the style of BBC’s ‘Question Time’ programme with distinguished panellists including Profesor John Fitzpatrick of Kent law Clinic, Inayat Bunglawala, Founder of Muslims4UK, Humphrey Hawksley, BBC Foreign correspondent, Minette Marrin of the Sunday Times and Richard Harrington, Conservative Party candidate for Watford, all gathering to field questions in 6th form halls packed with a diverse cross section from the local community.
