Hunters Bar and Restaurant reviewed
|
Watford Flea’s food critic was invited to Hunters Bar & Restaurant based in Hunton Bridge, Kings Langley and received a very warm welcome from Clive Dodman the owner. “The ambiance was cosy with beams and inglenook fireplaces. I chose to eat in the bar from the lunchtime menu as it was supposed to be a flying visit. There was none of the usual scrum for the comfy armchairs, as there were plenty to accommodate everyone. As it turned out, it was the perfect venue to make a few phone calls, without feeling like other guests were on top of me - and the food was so enjoyable I stayed for dessert too! “There is a more extensive menu for the evening which can be eaten in the bar area or in the Jacobean-style restaurant. Hunter’s may have played host to Charles I in 1642 but today the food is fresh, modern English fare with a large twist of originality in its flavour and presentation. The ‘grown-up’ portions are not for the faint hearted!” Hunters Bar & Restaurant recently won a customer service award from The National Skills Academy for Hospitality Excellence. On ‘two’ separate occasions, mystery shoppers visited to have a meal and found the experience outstanding. They awarded Hunters the highest score in the South East. The Award winning Hunters can cater for any function from 60 for a sit down meal to 100 for a buffet, but it’s equally ideal for that important business lunch, a more casual gathering or a romantic meal for two. Whatever you require, Clive and his team are waiting to make it a special and memorable event for you. Call 01923 441141 to make your booking. Our picture shows a small group of visitors from Vesoul, France admiring the typically british olde worlde charm - and enjoying the excellent quality hospitality offered in the Hunters Bar.
