So here’s FIVE TOP TIPS to help you make that sale!
I’m generally sceptical about survey results as they can be manipulated to support any side of an argument. However, as the above statistic comes from the highly regarded A T Kearney Global Management Consultancy firm, I’m prepared to accept that perhaps this particular report actually does ring true.
If it does, my reason for highlighting it is that when you are presenting your home for sale, it becomes incredibly important that you should aim to appeal to the female section of the buying public. It’s no accident that the Imagine office décor is a mix of fuchsia and purple. This undoubtedly reveals my feminine side; a side I’m suddenly very proud to share with you all.
With women making 80% of all consumer decisions, it makes sense to focus more on marketing your home to them, doesn’t it? Particularly when one of the stock lines we hear from men is “I can’t do anything without permission from the boss!”, I think it’s fair to say that most men are usually acting on instructions!
So what would be the key things to remember when preparing your home for sale to appeal to women? Just for you, I’ve carried out my own extensive research by asking my nearest, dearest and my team, and have come up with 5 top tips to help you present your home more effectively.
I have to admit that there were a few surprises in there!
Unfortunately I do not have the room here to do all 5 of them justice, so here are the first 2 and you can read the remaining 3 by visiting the article section on our website www.imagine-group.co.uk/coleface.php
Tip No 1 - KEEP IT CLEAN!
They say that cleanliness is next to Godliness, but did you realise that a clean home is so pivotal in the sales & moving process? I knew it was important but the women interviewed in my survey said that NOTHING is more important. Apparently this could apply to a few of the actual sellers as well! KEEP
Tip No 2 – KEEP IT PROJECT–FREE!
It’s hardly surprising to learn that most women would rather move into a finished home than take on a ‘project’. It’s time for you to pop to your local DIY store and get all the things you need to finish those little jobs that you’ve never got around to before the female viewers start pouring through your front door; and before you pick me up on using the word ‘pouring’, I’d like to point out that we’d sold 8 houses in the first 2 weeks of January.
