Valentine 2009

This month theres a lot of love and kisses in the air.

A kiss is a unique expression of affection and love, and something that every new parent wants to give their child.

But for 1 in 8 new parents, their baby may have been born too soon, too small or too sick.

Kiss for Bliss 2009 is a national Valentine-themed fundraising week. Anyone can get involved by organising a Kiss for Bliss party or any kissing themed fundraising event or activity. The fun will be centred around Saturday the 14th of February but you can have your event anytime in February.

The Longest Kiss Chain - On Friday 13 February (the day before Valentines Day), a World Record attempt to form the longest kiss chain will start at 1pm in Spitalfields Market (near Liverpool Street Station, London). To complete this bizarre and rather challenging task at least 200 volunteers will be needed. As a participant, you will be part of a human kiss chain, and will have to kiss the person in front of you on the lips or cheek and passing that kiss on to the person behind you! What a fantastic way to support Bliss, raise awareness and help the 82,000 babies each year that are born sick or premature. They have a downloadable guide on how to organise an event available at www.bliss.org.uk.
