If there is one thing that annoys me it is poor customer service….it’s not hard is it? Well, it appears it is!

Potential customers are not only more discerning but have a huge choice of where to go for their goods or services. So why in the midst of an economic down-turn, do we still encounter bad customer service?

I recently went to Camden Market with my daughter who is passionate about jewellery making. We came across a beautiful jewellery stall where the owner was making a piece. My daughter tried to speak to her, but she would not interact, turned away and barked ‘don’t touch’.

We went to another stall where the lady discussed how she got started in jewellery making, gave my daughter advice and wished her the best of luck. Who do you think we bought from?

It’s no surprise that we gravitate towards those who are friendly. It begs the question 'how long will the others stay in business?'

I have particularly targeted those advertisers who are offering a great service, who go that extra mile, who bend over backwards to help.

If you have any ‘great service’ stories email me and we can ‘name and celebrate’ them.
